In Népal, most road infrastructure outside major cities is unsuitable for many vehicles. Even under these conditions, reaching remote areas of the country would take an enormous amount of time and be deeply uncomfortable. Some locations are entirely inaccessible by road. This is why for certain destinations, we offer you flights departing from Kathmandu or Pokhara. Expect to budget between €30 and €200, depending on flight duration and frequency.

Local Airlines

3 airlines allow you to travel across Népal :

• Yeti Airlines and its subsidiary Tara Air
• Nepal Airlines
• Buddha Air

Some airlines operate more frequent connections than others. For instance, the route between Kathmandu and the legendary Lukla airport, for many the starting point of treks towards Mount Everest, typically operates multiple flights daily. Others are less frequent, and some routes may only run a handful of times per month during low season.

Given that mountain weather can be unpredictable, delays are common, but your flights will rarely be cancelled. Instead, they'll be rescheduled for later, once conditions have stabilized sufficiently. You'll naturally be kept informed of any changes, and receive refunds if the flight becomes impossible.

Flights to Tibet and Bhutan

Bluseheep Journeys works primarily with the country's largest carrier, Yeti Airlines, for domestic travel throughout Népal. For Tibet, we'll arrange your journey via Air China, and through Druk airline to access Bhutan.
