Nestled at 2,760 meters on the foothills of Annapurna, Ghorepani opens the way to the legendary sunrise at Poon Hill and sweeping rhododendron forests.
Ghorepani is one of the most prominent villages in the Annapurna mountains of Nepal. It stands as one of Nepal's most celebrated trekking destinations. Perched at approximately 2,760 meters elevation, it commands spectacular views of the Himalayan range. This village anchors the iconic Ghorepani–Poon Hill trekking route.
Reaching Ghorepani from Pokhara typically takes two days. You'll drive to Nayapul, then begin trekking after crossing the Modi River. For the first night, you can overnight in Tikhedhunga or Ulleri, and arrive at Ghorepani on the second day. The trail itself is both scenic and serene.
What to See
The Himalayan panorama from the village is breathtaking. From Ghorepani, you can take in the peaks of Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV, and V, alongside Tukuche, Dhampus, Nilgiri, Annapurna South, Barah Sikhar, and the distinctive Machhapuchhre.

Drive to Nayapul: 1.5 hours

Climb to Poon Hill (3,210 m), trek to Tadapani: 5–6 hours
Trek to Ghandruk: 4 hours
Trek to Nayapul, then drive to Pokhara: 4 hours trekking, 1.5 hours driving
